Devotional for week of December 12, 2011.
THE PROMISED MESSIAH (CHRIST) Since the creation of the world and mankind, there has been"none righteous, no, not one." Being righteous means being in a right state with God. All down through the centuries to the present time, we have not been able to obey and please God. It started with the disobedience of Adam and Eve, continued through the murder of Abel by Cain and still continues today in us and our present society. Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden. God gave the Israelites the Law through Moses, and they were unable to keep it. The other countries of that area and time did not even try to keep the Law. If they knew anything at all of it, they ignored it. Because of our Judeo-Christian heritage we are a country based on laws, but we do not keep them. There is not a one of us who does not break the laws of God. People are unable in their own power and strength to obey and please God. God knew before He created man that human beings would need a Savior. Without a Savior, we are all under a death warrant. God's plan for salvation was in His mind before Creation. In Genesis 3:15 He said to the serpent, Satan, "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike His heel." This is the first promise in the Holy Bible of a Savior. The prophets of God, in the Holy Spirit, through the centuries, prophesied that a ruler would be born to the people of Israel, who would be the Savior of the world. For example, Isaiah 9:6 says, "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." Again in Isaiah 11:1, Isaiah prophesied, "A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit." (Jesse was the father of David, the greatest king Israel ever had.) Micah 5:2, "But you, Betlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Judah." Throughout the Old Testament prophecies are given, pointing to the coming Messiah (Hebrew), Christ (Greek) (The Anointed One). PRAISE BE TO GOD FOREVERMORE!!! HALLELUJAH!! WOW is all i can say it seems as if january was just yesterday! but december is here and everyone is excited about it. Enjoy your Christmas season!
MBforC Here is a weekly devotion written by our staff. Come and check back every Saturday for a new one!
We are in the Thanksgiving Season. We praise and thank our Heavenly Father for all his wonderful mercies, love and grace to us. We thank Him for his bountiful goodness to us. Psalm 100 says, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who has made us, and we are His; we are His people; the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues to all generations." (NIV) We owe our whole lives and everything we are and have to the God of the Universe--who created heaven and earth. At this Thanksgiving season let us give all our being to Him for His purposes. "For in Him we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:28a (NIV) "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift." II Cor. 9:15 (NIV) (His mercy). Hello everyone. Hope this Friday night finds you well. Just thought I'd write about a few NEW things that are going on!
1. Youtube channel- A couple days ago, we created a Youtube Channel- MBforC. So far, we only have one video uploaded. However, there are others that we have taken that will be uploaded soon. Tell us what you think! 2. Facebook page- Also recently created, our new Facebook page (Myth Busters for Christ) will be used as an updater among other things. FYI, there are two pages titled "Myth Busters for Christ." The one that we will be using has our website logo as the Facebook logo. 3. If you've been on Youtube recently, you have probably seen an ad for the videos titled: .......and I'm a Mormon. Well, we have decided that we should make one like that that talks about Christianity instead of Mormonism. Send us your scripts (2-5 minutes long) and the winner will receive a free copy of a book on Mormonism. This is an excellent resource that compares Christianity with Mormonism. Check it out today and SEND US YOUR SCRIPTS. Thanks and God bless. *Minimum of 4 entries total for winner to receive book* Hello everyone! Wow, the year has flown away. We appreiciate your prayers, and still ask for them. If you need any answers to your biblical questions, please ask us via email on the site. We understand your hesitation to ask because we are young, remember, if we can't answer AND back up your question biblically, we will seek help from our trusted adults who might be able to answer the question.
On another note, this morning the sermon at the church was led by a missionary serving in the Pacific Rim. He touched the hearts of people in the church. We believe that missions ARE NOT just for missionaries. WE ARE CALLED TO SHARE THE GOSPLE AS WELL. Read Matthew 28, then if you want to, contact us and tell your testimony and ( if you want to) give your e-mail, we might reply and ask if you mind if your testimony on the website. you may be annonymous or share your name.
